On Wednesday the 10th October, Uxbridge College XI made the short journey across town to face local Sixth Form College Bishopshalt in the first round of the Middlesex Cup.

Uxbridge College began the game at a blistering pace, not allowing their opponents any time on the ball, and producing some slick passing moves when in possession. The first goal came only minutes in, when Hassan Mahmood concluded some great midfield play with a tidy finish across the goalkeeper. The away team's dominance did not stop there, with the hoops bagging another four goals in just 20 minutes. Two goals from Abas Gulled, an own goal, and another tidy finish from Hassan Mahmood saw Uxbridge go into the break five goals to the good.

Into the second half, and the Uxbridge boys showed little sign of complacency with wave after wave of attacks flooding the home team defence. Bishopshalt fought tirelessly to keep out the Uxbridge strikers, but eventually they caved in, as substitute Craig Driver and midfield maestro Khari Valerie each added a brace to make the score 9-0.

Midfielder Jamie White, returning to his old stomping ground was especially keen to get on the score sheet and his opportunity came when a team mate was fouled 35 yards out from goal. With the free-kick positioned perfectly for a left footer, White didn't think twice as he stepped up and rocketed the ball into the top left corner, netting his first goal of the season. The final goal was another contender for goal of the match, as centre back Drilon Veliu was able to find the top corner with a thunderous volley from outside the area.

The final score finished 11 – 0 and Uxbridge College First XI now progress to the next round of the Middlesex Cup.
