Ever wanted to run the London Marathon for the R’s? Here is your chance!
The club are delighted to reveal QPR in the Community Trust have been awarded a charity place at the 2013 Virgin London Marathon.
So why not set yourself the ultimate New Year's resolution and make 2013 the year you face your biggest challenge while raising money for a fantastic cause!
The London Marathon is a lifetime achievement for anyone who takes on the challenge. The 26-mile course stretches from Greenwich Park to the Mall, with live bands and thousands of excited supporters cheering you on to the finish. With over 35,000 runners, the event remains the most popular in the running calendar and the most difficult to gain entry to!
This is the first year the Trust have been awarded an entry place - so apply now for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!
This year’s London Marathon will be held on Sunday 21st April 2013.

Closing date for entries is Thursday 30 January, 5pm.
Why do you want to run for QPR in the Community Trust?
Have you any experience of marathon running? If so, please provide details including dates of each event and how much sponsorship money you raised.
How much do you think you could raise in sponsorship (minimum of £2000 for this place)?
How would you go about raising your estimated amount in sponsorship? (Please be as specific as possible)
Does your company operate a matched giving policy?
Please feel free to tell us anything else about yourself that may be of interest to the marathon organisers or the media. Alternatively, you could tell us more about your fundraising plans, training and motivation.
Please note that places are awarded on merit and not on a first come, first served basis. So the more information you can included in your application the better.
About QPR in the Community Trust
QPR in the Community Trust has reached over half a million children across the boroughs of Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Brent, Hillingdon, Westminster, Ealing and Camden since its inception in 1994.
The Scheme’s work to date has led to its inclusion in Show Racism the Red Card’s Hall of Fame, winning the Family Excellence Award 2008, being highly commended twice in the Hammersmith & Fulham Community Sports Awards 2011 and winning the Community Club of the Year Best Disability project for the Tiger Cubs at the Football League Awards 2011.
The scope of work undertaken has expanded rapidly and the Trust works with members of the local community aged 4-90. Projects are based around the Trust’s 4 core aims of health, education, social inclusion and sports participation and include: Over 60s physical activity projects, projects to divert teenagers from crime and anti-social behaviour, disability projects, work in schools and educational projects based at the stadium to name a just a few.
Looking ahead, the Trust aims to build on these triumphs by continuing to have a positive influence on thousands of lives every year. QPR in the Community Trust persists in breaking down barriers and improving people’s everyday life.
