Our requirements are that you hold a Level 1 or above National Governing Body qualification, a valid FA emergency Aid, a valid FA Safeguarding & Protecting Children and a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service enhanced criminal records check).
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Safeguarding Manager to join our ambitious Club.
The post holder will provide leadership, promote awareness and best practice in all areas of Safeguarding children and adults at risk, across the Club and QPR in the Community Trust.
As well as maintaining key relationships with Internal and external bodies, you will be responsible for the preparation of reports and the development of policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, including risk assessments and recommendation for safer working practices.
Previous experience of working in social care and dealing with issues relating to the protection of at risk groups is essential, as well as good knowledge of safeguarding legislation and delivering safeguarding training to groups.
Key Duties include:
•The implementation and regular updating of policies and procedures for the safeguarding of children and adults at risk across all areas of the Club and Community Trust.
•Set up and maintain effective regular communication channels for; key identified staff and departments of the Club and Community Trust, who work with children and adults at risk, including participants and partnerships.
•Provide regular reports to the Club and Community Trust’s Senior Management on the effectiveness of the implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures, with updates on current legislation and any changes in Football League rules which will impact on the Club and Community Trust.
•Liaise with external bodies to promote best practice, further knowledge and foster good relationships.
•Degree or relevant work life experience.
•Knowledge in statutory regulations impacting on child welfare.
•Experience of working with children and/or adults at risk.
•IT skills - a high level of competence using Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint skills
•Successful experience of line management.
•Valid UK driver’s licence.
•Knowledge and experience of working in a professional sport environment
