Spark makes some new friends!
In October half term participants from QPR in the Community Trusts Disability Soccer School were given a surprise when SPARK made a special appearance to see how all the kids were getting on with their new found skills. The Soccer School is developed in partnership with DASH, Sandgate Football Club and Hayes Staff is aimed at offering Disabled People the opportunity to take part in football activities during half term.
The project which has been running for over a year now has been a massive success with over 100 young disabled people taking part in its events. On the day QPR coaches take sessions which are fun as well as progressing young people’s ability to take part in football and enhancing their health, social and emotional wellbeing.
The day was a massive success despite the chilly weather with everyone enjoying themselves. QPR in the Community Trust coaches Sylvester Towleh, Nathan Simpson and Jens Glerup were on hand to deliver the sessions which included skills, matches and competitions. Some fantastic football was seen and all of the participants went home with big smiles on their faces.
SPARK greeted the young people at the end of the session and rewarded everyone with QPR gifts to say well done. SPARK was a big hit on the day and is looking forward to seeing his new friends at the next soccer school which is planned for Easter half term.
